CORE VALUES FOR FAITH FELLOWSHIP
1. PRAYER
Prayer is the spiritual foundation for all ministries. It is by prayer that spiritual battles are won and lives are changed. Mark 1:35-39; Mark 6:46; Matt. 12:21; Eph. 6:10-18; Acts 1:13-14; Acts 4:23-24, 31.
2. WORSHIP
Our Father seeks worship that honors and glorifies Him. It should be the very best that we can do. The worshiper is one who worships Him in spirit and truth with an affectionate love to God as well as a proclamation of His truth. We value worship that allows people to encounter and enjoy God. John 4:23-24; Rev. 4:9-10; Rev. 22:8-9; Matt. 4:10; Psa. 29:1-2.
3. EVANGELISM
Lost people matter to God and therefore it is the responsibility of the church to reach them with the Good News of God’s love in Christ. We will go anywhere to preach the gospel of Chris. Luke 5:29-30; Matt. 28:18-20.
4. SPIRITUAL GROWTH
We value the promise of being conformed to Christ-likeness. We therefore seek every opportunity to pursue holiness and continually take steps toward intimacy with Christ. This is manifested in the fruits of the Spirit and by such Christ-honoring qualities as: humility, honesty, transparency, brokenness and sensitivity toward all people.
Eph. 4:12-13, 25-26; Rom. 8:28-29; Gal. 5:22-25; Heb. 12:1; Phil. 1:6.
5. INTEGRATED BODY LIFE
We are called to live as “one body” in Christ. We hold common values and a common purpose. Through shared experiences we seek to strengthen our commitment to each other. Each member is valued for his/her God-given gifts as we work together in one body. One of the key ways Christ reveals Himself to us is through each other.
John 13:34-35; Heb. 10:25; I Cor. 12.
6. RELEVANT
The church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. Faith is born and nourished through the Word of God. We aim to demonstrate the relevance of the Bible to everyday life. I. Cor. 9:19-23; I. Pet. 2:2; Rom. 10:17.
7. ACCEPTANCE
We value loving people in a manner that makes them feel accepted, welcomed and cared for, no matter who they are. “We are only one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.” Luke 10:25-37; I. John 1:8-10; James 2:1-4; John 4:1-42.
8. SERVANTHOOD
We value the privilege of demonstrating the love of God by meeting the needs of others in our community. Matt. 20:27; Mark 10:44; John 13:1-17; Matt. 25:34-40.
9. CALCULATED RISKS
We esteem those who act on their dreams and who live out their convictions with creativity. We would rather applaud those who have tried and failed, than those who satisfy themselves with complacency. Joshua 14:6-15; Matt. 14:22-33.
